 Join the Friends of Local History and Special Collections for an author talk and book signing with Marietta Crichlow, long time DC resident and her daughter Linda Crichlow White, authors of Back There, Then. Marietta and her family are descended from people who were enslaved by Wilmer McLean in Manassas and Appomattox Court House, VA. When Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant in 1865 at McLean's Appomattox house, the Crichlows' ancestors were there. Back There, Then tells the story of the family's journey from then to now. Light refreshments to follow.
