CAPE SCIENCE: LIFE IN A VACUUM

Event Type: Children's Events
Date: 4/21/2018
Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Time: 11:45 AM
Description:
Join us for a captivating program about air pressure with vacuum chamber experiments as the main attraction. First, we'll use low-tech demonstrations to introduce the concept of air pressure and how it pushes down on us in our everyday lives. Then we'll focus on the idea of a vacuum and see what it means for objects to be in an air-free environment. Highlighting trends of pressure and volume, we'll draw comparisons of why certain objects act similarly or different when placed inside the vacuum chamber, as well as differentiate how our vacuum environment is both similar and different to the vacuum of space.Recommended for children ages 5 and up and their families.
