“The Day Carl Sandburg Died” Originally shown on the PBS series “American Masters,” this film provides an in-depth look at the intriguing and prolific poet and author. Beginning with his modest upbringing in Illinois, the documentary traces the highs and lows of Sandburg’s high-volume career and personal life. Pete Seeger, Studs Terkel, and Sandburg’s surviving daughter are some of the remarkable figures featured who discuss his life, works and his legacy today.
