In 1903, upset about the lax enforcement of child labor laws in Pennsylvania, union activist Mother Jones organized a Children's March from Philadelphia to the home of President Theodore Roosevelt in New York. Giving fiery speeches along the way, Mother Jones brought the issue to the forefront of the public agenda. This program is adapted and performed by Betsey Means of Womanlore.
