Kids ages 5 and up can adopt an emoji bear by visiting the public service desk at their local library during the months of June and July. Each pet will come with its own activity journal so you can track all the fun things you and your emoji bear do together. Fill out your activity journal to show us how much fun you have been having with your new friend to earn a small prize. Available while supplies last.
Let’s sail off using a pool noodle sailboat! Create a little sailboat using a small piece of pool noodle and other supplies. Design the boat however you want, and use it to race your friends or have it sail on an adventure in the pool! All materials will be provided. For ages 12-18.

to Comics, downtown Glendale's source for comic books, gaming and
collectibles, will be giving away comics in celebration of Free Comic Book Day
on Saturday, May 4th at the Velma Teague Library. Comics will be offered on a
first come, first served basis and while supplies last. Enjoy select vendors,
cosplay, and crafts and games for kids. Activities will take place inside the
Velma Teague Library and at the Drawn to Comics store located across the street
(5801 W. Glendale Avenue). Don't miss the Glendale comic book event of the

This Old-Time Music jam focuses on traditional instrumental music, including Appalachian fiddle tunes, Celtic and Canadian reels, jigs, hornpipes and other roots music. We encourage all acoustical instruments to share in these traditional tunes: Dulcimers, fiddles, banjos, guitars, harps, mandolins, Dobros, Irish whistles, etc. Players of all ages and ability are welcome to join in the time-honored tradition of gathering and playing music. A free live play performance by Childsplay Theatre. Eddie and Vinnie is a buddy comedy about Eddie, a boy with dyslexia, and his best friend/sidekick, a wise-cracking gecko named Vinnie. When facing the possibility of attending summer school if he can't get his grades up, Eddie teams with the overly helpful new girl in class to write their end-of-the-year report. It seems like Vinnie is always there to distract him…or is Vinnie challenging Eddie to lean into his uniquely beautiful mind?

have time to connect with other writers, discuss writing projects and hurdles, and share recommendations. Please
