Travel Photography: Richard Maack's Professional Tips and Techniques
Do you want to make your vacation photographs the best they can be? Join professional photographer Richard Maack for a crash course in travel photography, part of our ongoing “Create, Connect, Collaborate” series.
A commercial and editorial photographer and the former photography editor of
Arizona Highways magazine for over a decade, Mr. Maack will share an assortment of professional tips and techniques, review the contents of his camera bag, and show a slide presentation of his own images of people and places around Arizona. You even have the opportunity to submit a photo in advance for evaluation and comments to:
submit1photoor2@gmail.com.
Born in Chicago, Mr. Maack was drawn to the Southwest by the spectacular landscape photography of Ansel Adams and others. His photos have been published in such magazines as
Sunset,
Newsday,
Landscape Architecture,
Phoenix Magazine,
Phoenix Home & Garden, and
Arizona Highways, for whom he still works as a photographer. Maack is also co-author of the
Arizona Highways Photography Guide and has traveled the globe as a Lindblad/National Geographic expedition team guest photographer. For more information, visit

The program is free, but registration is required. Walk-in participants will be admitted on as-available basis.
