Event Details

Writing query letters and pitching to agents can be daunting. Sometimes it’s difficult to know where to start. In this workshop author Amy K. Nichols will tell you what makes for a compelling query letter, how to craft your “elevator pitch”, and where and how to contact literary agents. If you plan to publish your novel traditionally, this workshop is for you. Amy K. Nichols is the author of the young adult science fiction Duplexity series (Now That You’re Here and While You Were Gone), published by Knopf Books for Young Readers. She has served as a mentor with the Your Novel Year program at the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, and has led workshops at the Piper Writers Studio. She regularly facilitates discussions and workshops for young writers at libraries and schools around the valley. Insatiably curious, Amy dabbles in art and quantum physics, and has a long list of things she wants to learn before she dies. She lives with her family in Peoria, AZ.
