Event Details

In this interactive workshop Glendale's Writer in Residence, Amy K. Nichols, will discuss such topics as the differences between traditional and independent publishing, what it takes to land a traditional book deal, how to work with an editor, how to create under the pressure of deadlines, and ways to juggle writing and real life. If you dream of being a published author, take a step toward making that dream come true by bringing your ambitions and questions to this “ask me anything” style discussion. Amy K. Nichols is the author of the young adult science fiction Duplexity series (Now That You’re Here and While You Were Gone), published by Knopf Books for Young Readers. She has served as a mentor with the Your Novel Year program at the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, and has led workshops at the Piper Writers Studio. She regularly facilitates discussions and workshops for young writers at libraries and schools around the valley. Insatiably curious, Amy dabbles in art and quantum physics, and has a long list of things she wants to learn before she dies. She lives with her family in Peoria, AZ.
