For the month of April, we will be celebrating Earth Day by reusing plastic fruit cups and turning them into flower planters. Using the supplies provided, create an animal theme planter. Once you’re done decorating, add soil and seeds into your animal planter. All materials will be provided. For ages 12-18.

Arizona Broadway Theatre for Young Audiences presents Flight School. 

It’s the first day of Flight School, where they teach birds to fly. Penguin has the soul of an eagle and is ready to live on the wind. But he wasn’t built to soar, as the other birds constantly remind him. Penguin’s spirit won’t be grounded. With some friends of a feather, and a little help on the technical parts, Penguin follows his dreams to flip, flap, fly!

Old-Time Music Jam

This Old-Time Music jam focuses on traditional instrumental music, including Appalachian fiddle tunes, Celtic and Canadian reels, jigs, hornpipes and other roots music. We encourage all acoustical instruments to share in these traditional tunes: Dulcimers, fiddles, banjos, guitars, harps, mandolins, Dobros, Irish whistles, etc. Players of all ages and ability are welcome to join in the time-honored tradition of gathering and playing music. First and third Saturday of every month.  For more information or to download a free Old-Time Music tune book, visit: www.azoldtimejam.com.

Arts and Crafts Corner: Create Plant Tags for Your Garden

Choose up to six seed packets from the Glendale Library's seed program.Seeds are sourced from Native Seeds/SEARCH and provided by the Glendale Water Services Department – Conservation & Sustainable Living Division.

You will have a choice of two different styles of clay plant markers. Once you have created your markers Master Gardener Anne Stahley from the Glendale Water Conservation Department will discuss gardening in the Arizona climate and give hints from growing your seeds.

This is a STEAM program featuring botany and water conservation technology.

Advanced registration is required. Registration opens on March 16,  2024.

Adopt a Tortoise Program

Earth Day is celebrated every April 22nd to demonstrate support for protecting our environment. Help us celebrate our beautiful earth by creating a seed bomb out of clay, soil, and wildflower seeds! Beautify your surroundings and help our bees and butterflies thrive! Wear clothes you can get messy in.
