Animal Planters

For the month of April, we will be celebrating Earth Day by reusing plastic fruit cups and turning them into flower planters. Using the supplies provided, create an animal theme planter. Az Humane Society: Classy Critters

Arizona Humane Society expert Amanda and her adorable animal ambassadors will teach us about the five different classes of vertebrates, amphibians, reptiles, fish, birds, and mammals and discuss what makes them different. REGISTRATION REQUIRED and begins March 14. Please register for one session only.

Note to parents and caregivers: This presentation features a live animal experience and requires a waiver signed prior to entering the room and interacting with animals.

The TAG Lab (PI: Schea Fissel Brannick – Insta/TikTok/X @SFB_Research & https://www.translationaladaptedgroup.com), with the Midwestern University Speech-Language Pathology Program (Glendale, AZ) is hosting Family Literacy Night (FLN) in partnership with the Glendale Foothills and Heroes Regional Park Libraries! 

The FLN is a free family-centered shared reading event for parents and their children, ages two to four years old (Older/Younger siblings are always welcome)! The FLN is movement-based for all wiggly littles, accessible for those with disabilities, and is conducted immersively in Spanish and English languages. Join us to read, craft, sign, move, and learn tips and tricks that make reading fun and engaging for young children! All skill levels and types of writing are welcome - a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, song, poem, or even work. No one will see what you've written (unless you ask them to) or give you unsolicited advice. After a silent hour of writing, participants have time to connect with other writers, discuss writing projects and hurdles, and share recommendations. Please bring along whatever you’ll need to write - earbuds, earplugs, laptop or tablet, notebook and pencil, etc.
