 Oklahoma author, Rilla Askew returns to tour the Pioneer hometown libraries after the national book release party at the Norman library for “Kind of Kin,” her fourth novel, this past January. Join book groups who ask questions about the book that was inspired by 2007 Oklahoma legislation to toughen immigration laws and the reaction of those personally affected by the legislation. Askew received the Arrell Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award from the Oklahoma Center for the Book in 2011. She was also a PEN/Faulkner Award nominee and won an Oklahoma Book Award for her first novel, “The Mercey Seat.”
