Participants will learn about local ordinances, zoning issues and variance requests for keeping chickens. Local chicken farmer, Carrie Maxa will provide attendees with information on basic urban chicken care; local attorney Suzanne Klein will present information on ordinances; and Ann Arbor city official Stephen Kunselman, whose efforts led to a new ordinance allowing backyard hens will share his story. Stephen will be joined by Richard Richter of the popular website A2citychickens.org.
