You'll learn how to find your way around the schedules and tables to create call numbers that work. Using detailed explanations and multiple examples we'll discuss and practice the proper procedures for assigning commendable class numbers.
Topics: * history and arrangement of the system * the principles of DDC * using the Relative index * using the Manual * number building with notations from the schedules * number building using tables This is an introductory course, so previous experience is not mandatory.
