Cataloging with RDA, including specific examples of a variety of formats.
This workshop will address Resource Description and Access (RDA) the new cataloging rules being implemented in 2013. Discussion will include the FRBR and FRAD concepts and their role in RDA, as well as the role of user tasks and cataloger tasks. The correlation between AACR2 and RDA, including specific examples of a variety of formats, will be presented.

Dr. Shawne Miksa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Library and Information Sciences and Associate Director of the Interdisciplinary Information Science PhD Program in the College of Information (COI), University of North Texas. She has published and taught in the areas of Information Organization, Cataloging and Classification, Information Representation and Subject Analysis since 1998 and is currently writing a cataloging textbook on Resource Description and Access (RDA) for ALA Publishing. In 2009 she completed a 2-year term as Chair of the RDA Implementation Task Force for the Cataloging and Classification Section (CCS) under ALA’s ALCTS division.Contact: Chris Slater
