 Blogs, podcasts, and a variety of other social media tools are increasingly serving as platforms for library staff and members of their communities to collaborate toward producing positive community tranformations. The challenge, however, is to sift through the myriad choices to determine what works best to meet the varying needs of communities across the United States.

Join us for this one-hour highly interactive webinar that will focus on social media tools beyond Twitter and Facebook and include plenty of time for participants to discuss their own use of a variety of social media tools to nurture positive change.

Participants, by the end of this webinar, should be able to:

Provide one-sentence descriptions of three social media tools beyond Twitter and Facebook that they can use to benefit current and prospective library users

Identify at least three resources they can use in their efforts to more effectively support and promote positive change within communities through the use social media tools beyond Twitter and Facebook

Return to their worksites with at least three ideas they will immediately begin to implement incorporating social media tools other than Twitter and Facebook into the work they do with members of their communities

 Paul Signorelli ~ Biography
Paul, co-author of Workplace Learning & Leadership with Lori Reed and author of the forthcoming Change Your World Using Social Media (Rowman & Littlefield, Fall 2018), served as director of staff training for the San Francisco Public Library system before becoming an independent writer-trainer-instructional designer-presenter-social media strategist-consultant. He collaborates with clients and colleagues to identify and work with current trends in ways that help them better serve members of the communities with which they work; continues to serve on New Media Consortium (NMC) Horizon Project expert panels identifying and documenting educational-technology developments, trends, and challenges in libraries and other learning organizations; and writes extensively to document and promote ed-tech innovations.
