 The goal of this class is to learn basic signs, alphabet and numbers along with some vocabulary you may use in the library setting. We will also learn general information related to deaf culture. Academic, Public, School, and Special Library staff will be interested in this workshop because this will aid communication with deaf and hard of hearing clients. You will find this training beneficial because you will gain an understanding of this special population and its needs in gaining access to library resources . . . and help them get it!

 About the Presenter: Deb McClain is a professional sign language interpreter with over 40 years of experience. She has interpreted several workshops, conferences and meetings along with interpreting for classes in various universities and community college settings across the country. Deb and her husband of 42 years make their home in North Fort Myers, Florida. She continues to work in the deaf community interpreting and assisting where she can.
