 Part of the America's Music Film Discussion Series.
Director of the John Jacob Niles Center for American Music and professor at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Ron Pen will share his expertise on the Bluegrass and Country music genres. With his background in research on the music and culture of the Southern Appalachian region, Dr. Pen will guide attendees to investigate the urbanization of the music, the hybridity of musical styles within the genre, and the current of class-consciousness that flows from music and lyrics of country music.
