Practice your listening and speaking skills, achieve conversational ease and learn idiomatic expressions in this free class for adult students of English as a Second Language (ESOL), led by instructors from the Columbus Literacy Council.

About the Class
Students are placed into one of four levels after taking a brief orientation exam at the Columbus Literacy Council. The highest level class is held at the Westerville Public Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays, engaging students who are proficient in reading English and interested in improving listening and speaking skills.
A textbook is provided, which acts as a grammatical refresher and includes exercises to practice both written and spoken English. Class instructors also bring in articles and poems to read or topics for discussion.
About the Instructors
Linda Bernhard is a retired professor of nursing from The Ohio State University.
Pat Green retired from the Department of Defense as an IT manager for Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS). She is currently a teaching assistant while working on her Master's degree in Comparative Literature.
