Event Details

Local author Anne Wilson will discuss her debut novel, Hover. Hover documents the story of Navy helicopter pilot, Sara Denning. As a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Denning knew it would not be easy to earn her wings. Eight years later, she is now a decorated pilot, and she still struggles with the unique challenges of being one of the few females onboard. When she finds herself on a mission with Navy SEAL Eric Marxen, she is challenged with balancing her tough façade with new, unfamiliar feelings. In some ways, the character of Sara Denning mirrors Ms. Wilson’s own experiences as a military pilot. Ms. Wilson was a member of the tenth class of graduating women from the United States Naval Academy. She served nine years active duty as a Navy helicopter pilot before settling down with her family in Fountain Hills, AZ. For more information on her novel, visit her website at http://anneawilson.com/. This program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and signing after the program.
