Managing in a Brave New World: Communication is Critical

Event Type: SWFLN Webinar
Date: 12/15/2021
Start Time: 2:00 PM
End Time: 3:00 PM
Description:
About the Managing in a Brave New World Webinars: “Brave” and “manage” have always been words that go together. And our world today requires more bravery, more self-awareness, and more intentionality than ever before. In this series, “Managing in a Brave New World,” we’ll delve into many areas of management . . . and a few areas regarding the manager (that would be you!). These are standalone webinars, so you can attend one or all – and of course, we suggest you attend all to get the most benefit!

About this Webinar: We have all heard (or have we??) so much about communication, you would think it would be happening by osmosis. Yet in a world where we have more opportunities and methods of communication than ever before, staff members often lament the lack of communication in their organizations.

Academic Library staff will be interested in this webinar because even though the layers of communication can be quite deep, we can always control whether or not we, ourselves, are communicating effectively.

Public Library staff will find this training beneficial because not only do we need to communicate effectively with our patrons, but we also need to be at the top of our game when it comes to communicating with staff.

School Librarians and Media Specialists will benefit from this webinar because with so many moving parts each new school session, we can sometimes feel like everyone “already knows what’s going on.” But do they?

Special Libraries will be interested in this webinar because as we delve deep into our own specialties, it’s easy to feel like everyone around us knows what we’re doing and why. But…they may not.
